INFRASTRUCTURE / TAXES:
This county should be able to maintain its roads. Period. Budgeting for roads, sewer, water,
and stormwater should be priority #1. Instead, we now see what happens when personnel costs
are allowed to drain off a too large percentage of county revenue, and board of commissioners
after board of commissioners pass the buck on addressing infrastructure as the vital component
to quality of living that it is. Dribs and drabs have been allocated to infrastructure for far
too long, with the result that now there needs to be a drastic shakeup in the budget. We don't
need any new taxes. We need a new priority list on spending.
