The whole idea behind redevelopment areas is wrongheaded and does not serve the best interest of local taxpayers. Redevelopment Area #2 (RDA #2), established by this county, will potentially siphon off as "LITTLE" as 116 MILLION DOLLARS from the county general fund, and, very possibly, much, much MORE! A MINIMUM of 116 Million! Money needed for schools, infrastructure, and safety and fire protection will be used instead to "improve" the casino corridor (which was designated a "blighted area" under the requirements of establishing RDA #2) and fund a financially high risk "Event Center" project. RDA #2 should be abolished.
